About Dr. Fialkov Dr. Fialkov is an active member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Trauma Association of Canada, Alpha Omega Medical Honours Society as well as the Canadian and Ontario Medical Associations. As a Faculty member at the University of Toronto he regularly organizes, and presents lectures in local and international conferences related to current techniques and innovations in plastic surgery. In this regard, Dr. Fialkov has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters on plastic surgery related research and topics (for a list of Dr. Fialkov's publications click here) . Furthermore as a member of the University Faculty, he is responsible for the training of plastic surgery residents. In addition, Dr. Fialkov trains Canadian and International Fellows from United States, Europe and the Middle East who are fully qualified plastic surgeons seeking additional subspecialty training in newer and more complex plastic surgical techniques. Dr. Fialkov received his medical degree from the University of Toronto where he graduated as a medical doctor with honours and was awarded the Irving Heward Cameron Scholarship in Surgery and the University of Toronto Medical Society Award. Dr. Fialkov then completed a surgical internship at the Toronto Hospital, and subsequently was accepted to, and completed his Plastic Surgery residency training in Toronto during which time he also completed a Masters of Science degree with the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto. During his Plastic Surgery residency, Dr. Fialkov spent time training in Oxford, England under Professor of Plastic Surgery, Michael Poole. After certification as a Plastic Surgeon by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Fialkov went on to subspecialize in Cosmetic Surgery and Craniofacial Plastic Surgery, completing a fellowship with Dr. Bryan Mendelson a world renown Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon in Melbourne, Australia. In addition Dr. Fialkov sought additional fellowship training in Craniofacial Plastic Surgery (a subspecialty of Plastic Surgery concerned primarily with reshaping the structure of the face) with Professor Ian Jackson, one of the world's foremost Craniofacial Surgeons. During and since completion of his training, Dr. Fialkov has won numerous awards recognizing his skill as a surgeon as well as his academic achievements including awards from the British Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the University of Toronto Division of Plastic Surgery. All of the above qualifications, training and experience allow Dr. Fialkov to combine his thorough knowledge of anatomy, his technical skills and innovations, and his aesthetic sense to provide his patients with the results they desire. His priority as a surgeon is to ensure that a patient's expectations are met by providing the right procedure for the desired effect in a safe and comfortable environment.
